Haven Consulting’s founder and senior advisor in its Public Sector and Social Services practice, Natasha has over 18 years of BC government leadership experience across finance, social sector, health, and the natural sector.
A trusted and highly collaborative leader, she has led nationally recognized examples of transformative, citizen-centred public policy, including the prize-winning BC Services Card and the modernization of gender identity expression on government-issued identification.
More recently, she led the development of provincial standards, policies and guides for virtual care, digital health, and mental health and substance use. This work was part of the Province of BC’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but more broadly sets a foundation for digitally and socially transforming the way we deliver health care in British Columbia.

Laura Smallwood is an associate at Haven Consulting and a senior advisor in its Operations and IM/IT practice.
With over 35 years of results-driven experience in the British Columbia provincial government and private industry, she brings extensive expertise with project/program management, change management, human resource management and systems development.
She is our resident expert in the “translation” of policy, regulatory and statutory requirements into technical language for business requirements and systems development.
